The Conference will be held at the Faculty of Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome, which is one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in 1303 by Pope Bonifacio VIII, and one of the most prestigious in Europe. The venue, situated in the historic centre of the city, directly overlooking the Colosseum, within walking distance of Piazza Venezia and the Roman Forum, provides a truly remarkable location. The Faculty develops around a magnificent Cloister which represents one of the most important examples of the Renaissance architecture in Rome and is next to the ancient Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli, which is home to one of the magnificent sculptures of Michelangelo, namely the marble statue of Moses (1513-1515).

All around the hearth of Rome: the “Eternal City” boasts a cultural heritage in the world, spanning over two millennia. With its grand monuments, the hundreds of churches, and the spectacular fountains, Rome stands as a testament to the richness of human civilization offering the highest concentration of historical, archaeological, and architectural treasures in the world.

In Rome the wonders are endless, from the Roman Colosseum and the Pantheon to the early Christian basilicas and catacombs, from the wonderful palaces and churches of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque like Saint Peter to the contemporary masterpieces designed by top international architects.

Rome is endowed with an extremely large variety of museums hosting incredible masterpieces, the most famous ones being the Vatican Museums, which include the Sistine Chapel, and the Capitolini Museums. Today’s Rome is a cosmopolitan and international capital, being the site for many cultural and political events.

It is said that a city can also be described through its panorama, colors, scents, objects, or even an idea. It is precisely those nuances, intangible and temporary, which sometimes turn into unforgettable memories.
